  • Infant/Toddler Part A (Social-emotional growth and socialization, brain development and relationships, learning and development group care, culture, family and providers) - 16 hours
  • Infant/Toddler Part B (same as above, but expanded) - 16 hours
  • New Rules for Child Care Licensing Division - 3 hours
  • Recognizing Asthma in Young Children - 2 hours
  • Great Days with Kids E-Course (Curriculum & Lesson Planning) - 5 hours

  • 4.0 in Child Development 100 (Foundations of Early Childhood Education), 101 (Child Growth and Development: 0-10 years), and 111 (Child Guidance and Social Development). 3.5 in Child Development 220 (Preschool Curriculum). 3.0 in 251A & 251C (CDA Certificate). All taken at Lansing Community College.

Tuition and Fee Policy

Full-time tuition is charged on a weekly basis.  Full-time is considered 30 hours or more per week.  The fee is $140 per week.

Part-time tuition is charged on a daily basis  at $35 per day.  Before and after school care is charged at a rate of $5 per hour. 

If you have more than one child in need of full-time care, there will be a $25 per week discount for all children after the first.

Our Daily Schedule  

8:00 am -  Breakfast

8:30 am -  Free Play

9:00 am -  Hands on activity – play dough, craft, science experiment, bake, color

9:30 am -  Literacy activity – read, letters (writing, letter sounds/recognition), numbers (counting, recognition, simple math), colors, shapes

10:00 am - Snack Time

10:15 am - Outside play (Exercise by dancing, stretching, yoga moves, etc. inside when weather is inclement.)

11:15 am - Prepare for lunch

11:30 am - Lunch

12:00 pm - Clean up time

12:15 pm - Story & music time – sing, play, dance

12:35 pm - Brush teeth, potty time, diaper changes.

12:45 pm -   Quiet/Nap time                  

2:30 pm -   Free play, inside or outside

3:15 pm -   Snack time

3:30 pm -   Literacy activity - Reading, etc.

3:45 pm -   Hands on activity - blocks, puzzles, etc.

4:00 pm -   Outside play

(This is very flexible, especially for infants.)

About Ashley

We are licensed for group childcare, so when there are more than seven children or I am called for a birth we employ an assistant or two.

Ashley is enrolled at Lansing Community College and is working on her associate's degree in Child Development.  She has been employed with Sara's Family Playground since October 2010.
